For months, Ace was heard taunting, “They're coming.” A similar sentiment began coming from our GM Gary Ranatza. The ominous nature of the warning has left a sense of foreboding in the minds of the fans and the locker room. Who are “They”? The answer was heard loud and clear at Defending Honor.
The best of seven series between “The Ark Angel” Eric Black and “The Franchise" Loaded Guns Chris Black was to determine once and for all who was the best of the Black brothers. At Defending Honor, after only four matches, GM Ranatza stepped in to intervene. The battles had gotten too brutal, too bloody, too personal. The GM declared on that night, the series would have to end, but there would be one final match to see who could rise to the top. Their last match would be a ladder match!
Come match's end, when it seemed for a moment that Chris Black would emerge victorious when all of the sudden, a swarm of Elitists came from the back. Identified in the ensuing carnage was the High Flying Ace, Sean Black, and Charles West. As the dust settled, Eric Black emerged holding the EPW Heavyweight Championship.
GM Ranatza stepped into the ring to try to regain control of the situation, but ended up taking the arena by surprise when he low-blowed Chris Black. At once, it became apparent who “They” were. Excellence Incorporated had come to EPW.
